WEB 2.0 TRAINING WORKSHOP

CSIR-INSTI in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and CTA organized five days training workshop on the application of web 2.0 tools from the 15th - 19th April, 2013 at Accra, Ghana. Several participants from different agricultural- based institutions across the country were competitively selected to represent their organization. CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Appiah-Kubi and Mr. Charles Essien.  The workshop was facilitated by a skillful facilitator called Mr. Justin Chisenga, from FAO

The first day of the workshop was dedicated to the introduction of participants, workshop outline, introduction to Participatory World Wide Web (Web. 2.0) and Social media and finally ended with the creation of micro-blogging using Twitter and its practical demonstration. Participats were able to create their twitter accunts and tweet their thoughts on topical issues been discussed on the media.

On the second day of the workshop, participants were taken through creation and management of blogs and by the close of the day, all the participants have active blogs of their own and/ or for their organization. So far so very good for all the participants and we hope that the participants will continue to update their skills and knowledge on this acquired skills and share them with their colleagues.


The third day started with practical session on the blogs each participant has created.
